E220 Focused-ultrasonicator

The E220 focused-ultrasonicator is a workstation-based instrument capable of extremely rapid and complete homogenization, tissue disruption and sample extraction.
It provides multi-sample preparation with scalable acoustic energy, capable of processing a wide range of sample types and volumes. The E220 can also be operated in stand-alone mode or can be easily integrated as part of an automated laboratory system.
  • Sample processing capacity: 1 to 96 per batch
  • Sample volume: 50ul - 10ml
  • Treatment Power: 100 Watts Average Power

The E220 enables multi-sample, batch preparation, capable of processing a wide range of sample types and volumes. The E220 may be programmed to process from 1 to 96 samples in a single batch. For example, with 96 samples, 96 different AFA energies may be pre-programmed. With the available racks, the E220 instrument is easily configured for use with all AFA Tubes (volumes from 50µl to 10ml) including single AFA microTUBE™ and the AFA 96 microTUBE Plate, for both single and batch sample processing.

The E220 can be operated as a stand-alone unit, or easily integrated as part of an automated laboratory system. The versatility of the E-Series Focused-ultrasonicator makes it possible to bring the advantages of AFA to numerous biological and chemical applications including, DNA and chromatin shearing, tissue homogenization, cell lysis, compound dissolution, and particle micronization.

Focused-ultrasonicators operate at frequencies well beyond the range of human hearing (500KHz) so, unlike traditional (low frequency) laboratory sonicators they are inaudible and do not require sound-proof boxes or other special precautions. The E220 is also available in higher power (E220X) and robotic capable (E220R) configurations.
