    Covaris AFA and other proprietary products have unique and competitive advantages for scientists working in Genomics, Proteomics and Chromatin research. The AFA technology enables very high-throughput pre-analytical processes in multiple research applications using our own set of instruments, consumables and reagents.
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Commercial Team as an Inside Sales Account Rep. You will be managing the customer sales process for all Covaris product lines, accounts and/or sales opportunities via phone and e-mail. Interacting with existing customers and identifying new ones, will be a core responsibility. You will have significant interaction with colleagues in sales, marketing and applications, to address customer questions/concerns, creating, and submitting individualized quotes, and additional customer service tasks and logistics.

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • Focus on lead generation activities in coordination with field sales and marketing teams.
    • Customer interaction will be the major focus and it is expected that beyond email campaigns a major focus will be on outreach via phone or video conferencing
    • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan
    • Independently make decisions, but also utilize available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with cross-functional team of supplier and internal resources
    • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to expand business with new customers within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
    • Facilitate the introduction of new products and services within the assigned product portfolio
    • Build and maintain strategic account plans, and provide accurate forecasts and reports of sales activity entering data into Salesforce.com

    Qualifications:
    • Excellent sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, listening, and closing
    • Minimum of B.S. Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills to communicate in a direct manner with both customers and internal teams.
    • Previous inside sales experience in life science research, medical or diagnostic field is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Next Gen Sequencing is a plus.

    Summary:
    The position is ideal for a talented, results-producing marketing manager with a proven record of creating & executing strategic cost effective, integrated digital marketing & advertising programs for global B2C & B2B companies specifically in the life sciences. This Manager leads a marketing communications team and is accountable for driving digital integrated marketing to raise the brand awareness, consideration, conversion, and purchase of Covaris instruments, consumables, and reagents. The successful candidate needs to be a creative and resourceful team player to work closely with departments at Covaris including but not limited to Product Marketing, Sales, Applications, R&D, and Operations.
    Essential Responsibilities:
    The employee may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.
    For Covaris USA and Covaris Europe:
    • Lead the Marketing Communications team to:
      • Develop digital marketing campaigns including creation of marketing materials, product positioning and messaging, and video marketing.
      • Develop automated digital marketing campaigns with product managers utilizing Pardot marketing automation to increase the number of Marketing Qualified Leads sent to the sales team.
      • Plan, organize, execute and manage events including tradeshows, scientific conferences, sales training sessions and other corporate events.
      • Plan, create, produce and track product advertising, sales promotion, public relations, website, videos, and social media.
      • Develop and maintain corporate website in conjunction with Product Management.
      • Measure, report and optimize marketing campaigns.
      • Develop brand guidelines and ensure consistent adherence to guidelines for all marketing materials and activities.
      • Develop and execute email campaigns in conjunction with business, sales and product management.
      • Create and update collateral, presentations, brochures, product sheets, application sheets, technical notes, case studies, white papers, web content, newsletters, signage, ads and sales tools with input from product marketing, product management, executives, sales, and customers.
      • Developed and execute online strategies that include search engine optimization, keyword search, search engine marketing and social media.
    • Responsible for strategic direction and execution of all external communications.
    • Work to develop and maintain Covaris branding and visual identity guidelines.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Science, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related discipline.
    • 5 years plus of B2B Digital Marketing and Communications experience in the life sciences required. Hands on research experience in an academic or industry life sciences laboratory preferred. Previous management experience preferred.
    • Experience with platforms such as: Pardot marketing automation, SalesForce CRM, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Bigtincan sales enablement program, videos as one channel of digital marketing, and customer satisfaction surveys.
    • Ability to “hit the ground running”, take charge, strong and independent initiative, outstanding organizational skills, project management abilities, writing and editing skills.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable plans.
    • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
    • Cross-functional collaboration expertise.
    • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Adobe and Photoshop.
    • Experience with creative concept development, art direction, storyboarding and message development for creative design work
    • 20% travel, primarily domestic conferences and customer visits.

    Responsible for multiple Engineering and MFG support roles, including
    • Participation in product and process design, improvement, and validation. Aid in the transfer of designs from R&D to Manufacturing.
    • Technical Expert for device electrical systems and ‘Point of contact’ for Manufacturing and Service teams to resolve sustaining Engineering issues from start to finish.
    Individual will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service groups to achieve company objectives. Relies on experience, judgment and creativity to plan and accomplish goals. This position will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
    Essential Responsibilities:
    The employee may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.
    • Work closely with Engineering/R&D to reveal issues with electronics design through testing or analysis. Identify appropriate solutions, verify their effectiveness, and update documentation to release appropriate design or process changes.
    • Use Electrical and Systems Engineering design skills to develop, fabricate, and document test fixtures and tools to assist Engineering troubleshooting and diagnostics.
    • Use electrical circuit analysis techniques to evaluate and understand existing designs and participate in developing new designs.
    • Specify and evaluate board-level electronic components to be used in new PCBA designs or as alternate replacements for obsolete parts.
    • Interact with vendors and develop basic understanding of processes used, including but not limited to: Printed Circuit Boards, cabling, ultrasonic transducers, electronic sensors, and motion systems.
    • Perform Failure Analysis of non-conforming electronic sub-components identified on the MFG Floor; provide FA (Failure Analysis) summaries for MRB (Material Review Board) team.
    • Develop manufacturing processes by understanding product requirements; research, develop and document methods and tools for testing or analysis.
    • Develop understanding of the role played by Covaris application software (SonoLab) to control instrument hardware (motors, transducer, valves, etc.) and receive feedback from sensors (water level, door interlocks, etc.). Diagnose instrument failure symptoms and determine if caused by faulty hardware or software/firmware bugs.
    • Maintain workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
    • May lead and direct the work and training of others.

    Qualifications:
    • BS or MS degree in Engineering discipline (Electrical focus).
    • 5+ years of Engineering experience.
    • Experience developing custom electro-mechanical tooling or fixtures.
    • Strong writing skills, especially related to MFG work instructions, Engineering Test Plans/Reports, and documentation change release.
    • Experience with Schematic and PCB Layout using design software such as Altium.
    • Understanding of basic programming fundamentals and ability to use these techniques to create simple applications.
    • Familiar with mechanical and electronic testing methods and test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, gauges, calipers, etc.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Computer skills using standard word processing, spread sheets, databases, data entry and analysis, and internet competence.
    • Self-directedable to manage time and implement multiple projects in parallel.
    • Experience performing general statistical analysis and/or Statistical Process Control – Six Sigma, LEAN or other Operational Excellence training a plus.
    • Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work with various organizational levels.
