Remote whole blood collection with truCOLLECT is the focus of this follow-up to “Fingerstick-based DNA Collection Using truCOLLECT® Solution for Whole Genome Sequencing in Pediatric & Neurogenetic Research“. Researchers from the University of Florida and the University of Puerto Rico join Covaris to share new pharmacogenomic (PGx) findings from their ongoing whole genome sequencing study. The panel discusses CYP2D6 and other metabolizer variation in an understudied Puerto Rican population, what a 92-sample pilot cohort can responsibly tell us at this stage, and how remote whole blood collection made it possible to enroll families, including children with autism, who might not otherwise have participated in genomic research.
