The Covaris microTUBE is used extensively for DNA shearing for generating deep coverage, unbiased fragments for advanced sequence analysis. The microTUBE was designed to optimize inertial cavitation and focus acoustic energy in small volumes (e.g., 50 ul). The integrated AFA® fiber provides nucleation sites and allows for both uniform and faster sample processing. The microTUBE is made with a special grade of hardened glass for low acoustic impedance.
