Summary:

The position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a broad scientific background and experience as a sales manager within the life sciences. Ideal candidates will have a consultative selling background and experience calling on NGS/Oncology accounts, biotech, pharmaceutical and academic institutions within Scandinavia. The successful candidate should have established contacts and relationships with key decision makers within key accounts located in the Nordics. We are looking for a candidate who is highly energetic and genuinely driven to implement proactive tactics to engage with customers. Candidates should have a proven record of achieving or exceeding their targets.

Essential Responsibilities:  The employee may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.

  • Lead the market development sales activities in assigned geography.
  • Develop a pipeline to meet or exceed Territory revenue objectives.
  • Schedule and perform product demonstrations.
  • Manage and grow accounts including oncology/pathology labs, genomics core facilities, proteomics labs, contract research organizations, universities, pharma + biotech as well as hospitals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to meet and exceed revenue objectives.
  • Actively manage and grow your opportunities and contacts list within Salesforce
  • Develop new business, grow existing business, and support customers if troubleshooting becomes necessary.
  • Coordinate and/or perform product installations and provide user training.
  • Use your consultative selling skills to overcome and manage objections and negotiate to obtain sales.
  • Network and interface with internal colleagues to share information and best practices.
  • Liaise between in-house Solutions Laboratory Team and key customers to develop applications and market opportunities.
  • Contribute to overall company growth by attending national or international conferences and exhibitions.
  • Sales professional with three to five years capital scientific equipment sales experience (ideally NGS or sample prep related).
  • Ability to effectively manage and travel in a large geography (40-50% travel)

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in the Life Sciences.
  • Experience with selling into contract research organizations, hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotech with a focus on NGS and Oncology markets will be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of molecular biology and proteomics experience is a plus.
  • Experience performing product presentations, product demonstrations, product installation and training.
  • Critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines.
