ERP Data Specialist
Summary:
We are looking for a talented, self-motivated individual to take on the role of ERP Data Specialist, who will also work in materials control. The ERP Data Specialist is focused on upload and maintenance of ERP Product data, ensuring it is clean and accurate. Primary responsibilities include entering, maintaining, and guaranteeing the accuracy of our ERP master data, such as BOMs, item information, and routings, and assuring this information accurately reflects the material and processes in our warehouse and manufacturing floor. This position will be part of the Operations team reporting directly to the Materials Director. The ideal candidate is highly organized and can thrive in a busy environment.
Essential Responsibilities: The employee may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.
Work with internal stakeholders to drive efficiency, quality, and accuracy of ERP master data:
- Responsible for the upload and maintenance of ERP product data (Item Masters, BOM’s and Product Configurations, etc.) and assure the accuracy of all changes
- Continuously assess product data through usage of exception reports to ensure ERP data quality and integrity – root causing any issues and communicating with all relevant departments
- Work with IT to assure all tools are functional and take point in developing improved tools where needed
- Participate in the change order process and new product introduction, taking responsibility for ERP related activities
- Provide input and guidance to the other departments on the most efficient ways to structure change requests as they relate to the release and maintenance of data in the ERP system
- Participate in continuous cycle counting and yearly inventory audits with the goal of fully reporting discrepancies
- Assist in determining root causes on inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors
- Generate and report on inventory control metrics including stockouts and cycle count accuracy
- Work with several departments to set up, monitor, and guide material flow to new Kanban stations
- Investigate Kanban inventory discrepancies (physical vs. system/daily)
- Purchase material for Kanbans and train as a back-up in the purchasing department
Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP master data in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of the change order process
- Understanding of warehouse and manufacturing operations
- Ability to perform cycle counts in a functioning warehouse
- Experience with lift or willingness to be trained is desirable
- Attention to detail in data entry and in physical observation
- Experience with Excel is required and ability to learn reporting and transactions in various on premise and cloud-based business systems (ERP, eQMS, CRM, etc.)
