The main Operational Marketing Specialist (OMS) role is to implement the European Strategic plan using digital marketing and tele-sales tools, to set up communication plan, to support the launch of products, and to help developing existing accounts.
The OMS role will include the capability to collaborate with the European Sales Managers, Business and Applications teams, as well as with the US Marketing and Applications departments.
The position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a scientific background and experience in marketing and/or sales and/or applications support. Reporting into the European Operations organization (with a dotted line to the Sr. Director of Marketing), the candidate will also work closely with the Territories Sales Managers.
The position is home based in the UK.
Access to public transport (airport, train station) is essential.
Essential Responsibilites:
The employee may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.

Key activities:

  • Develop new markets
    • -Develop and execute launch plans and continued promotional strategies for new products
    • -Support the launch of new products by collaborating with the European application/business group, identifying prospects, and helping to organize demonstrations.
    • -Maintain up-to-date marketing tools for the sales team (database of customer presentations, application notes, etc.).
  • Foster installed base in Europe and increase revenues per account
    • -Helping to renew service contracts
    • -Develop the use of the installed base by maintaining a high level of communication with customers (applications, technical notes, protocols, and latest Covaris developments), and by increasing account run rates.
  • Leads generation activities
    • -Support the communication plan by organizing webinars, seminars, etc.
    • -Support the sales team by determining new strategies to generate new leads, by developing promotional tools and sales tactics to drive sales including product pricing, promotional tactics, and sales story, and by developing sales training programs
    • -Support the sales team activity through email and phone campaigns to customers.

In addition to the essential responsibilities listed above, the employee may be required to perform other non-essential functions.  Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor.
  • Experience in one of these areas: Genomics, Protein analysis, Epigenomics, molecular biology
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in life sciences is required
  • 3+ years of marketing or technical sales experience or applications specialist hotline
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Fully fluent in English
  • Ability to speak another European language (German, French) is an advantage
  • Critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines.
  • ~ 10% travel, primarily within EU
