    Summary:
    The open position presents an exciting opportunity for a Scientist with life sciences education and experience to make substantial contributions to Research and Development projects in a rapidly growing leading biotech company. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that integrates expertise and experience of biologists, chemists, physicists and mechanical and electrical engineers. The candidate will support research and development of next generation consumable and instrumentation systems with focus on proteomic applications. This position reports to the Senior Director of R&D.
    Essential Responsibilities:
    The Scientist must be efficient in performing the following examples of essential responsibilities. Note, that proficiency in sample prep and cell culture skills are a plus.
    • Planning, execution, data analysis and documentation of experiments to prove feasibility of new ideas and concepts.
    • Searching public data, including scientific literature and patents/patent application to support experimental strategy for the assigned projects.
    • Presentation of results and conclusions; communicating in a timely and precise manner.
    • Participation in prototype testing and assistance in assay migration, product development and commercialization efforts.
    • Ability to understand and to follow Standard Operating Procedures to support day-to-day activities such as QC tests of instrumentation and reagents.
    • Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
      • -Sample prep for the extraction of biomolecules (nucleic acids, proteins and metabolites) using Covaris AFA-technology and downstream processing for specified applications/assays.
      • -Analysis of biomolecules, such as quantification and quality assessment. This may include various established methods, including ELISA, mass spec, UV/VIS and fluorescent quantification, qPCR and RT-qPCR, SDS-PAGE and capillary electrophoresis, NGS library construction.
      • -Preparation of clinical specimens, such as whole blood, plasma, FFPE and fresh/frozen tissue, microbial cultures for downstream processing like sample prep, homogenization etc.
    As a Successful Candidate You WIll:

    Summary:
    Supervises the activities of the production staff for the manufacture/assembly of instruments and accessories; this includes the entire manufacturing cycle – build, modification, test and validation. This position is considered a working supervisor in the Manufacturing department but will coordinate regularly with other groups in Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, R&D, and Field Service.     It is an exciting time at Covaris Inc.! This is a customer facing role with the front-line support team for Covaris instruments in the United States, West Coast. The Engineer will be responsible for on-site service activities, documentation support, and service record keeping within the defined territory. This person may at times assist as a point of contact and problem-solver for technical support questions received by phone or email. The engineer will work with Technical Support, customers (internal and external), and other Field Service personnel to schedule travel and customer visits for on-site repair, installation, and preventative maintenance.     Essential Responsibilities:

    • Performs all field service activities including, but not limited to, installation of instruments, on-site, and preventative maintenance visits. The ideal Group Marketing Manager will also be responsible for leading a marketing communications team will need to ensure growth in outbound marketing parameters such as, brand awareness, visibility, and conversion.     Essential Responsibilities:
    The employee may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.

    For Covaris USA and Covaris Europe:

    • Lead the Marketing Communications team to:
      • Ideate and develop digital marketing campaigns including creation of marketing materials, product positioning and messaging, and video marketing.
      • Develop and implement automated digital marketing campaigns with respective product managers utilizing marketing automation tools to increase and/or optimize Marketing Qualified Leads and establish smooth communication channels to align with commercial team members.
      • Plan, organize, execute and manage events including tradeshows, scientific conferences, sales training sessions and other corporate events.
      • Plan, create, produce and track product advertising, sales promotion, public relations, website, videos, and social media.
      • Develop and maintain corporate website in conjunction with Product Management.
      • Measure, report and optimize marketing campaigns.
      • Develop brand guidelines and ensure consistent adherence to guidelines for all marketing materials and activities.
      • Develop and execute email campaigns in conjunction with business, sales and product management.
      • Work with responsible personnel for creation and management of critical outbound marketing content (presentations, brochures, product sheets, application sheets, technical notes, case studies, white papers, web content, newsletters, signage, ads and other necessary sales tools)
      • Develop and execute online promotional strategies that include search engine optimization, PPC, programmatic displays, keyword search, and social media.
    • Responsible for strategic direction and execution of all external communications.
    • Work to develop and maintain Covaris branding and visual identity guidelines.
    • Support highly visible projects, including: product launch campaign development, product and corporate branding initiatives, national/international tradeshows, and internal communications.
    • Ability to work on concurrent projects which require both strategic thinking as well as tactical execution.
    • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize workflows based on the critical business requirements
    • Perform other duties necessary to support and grow the Covaris business.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Science, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related discipline.
    • 5 years plus of B2B Digital Marketing and Communications experience in the life sciences required. Hands on research experience in an academic or industry life sciences laboratory preferred. Previous management experience preferred.
    • Experience with platforms such as: Pardot marketing automation, SalesForce CRM, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Bigtincan sales enablement program, videos as one channel of digital marketing, and customer satisfaction surveys.
    • Ability to “hit the ground running”, take charge, strong and independent initiative, outstanding organizational skills, project management abilities, writing and editing skills.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable plans.
    • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
    • Cross-functional collaboration expertise.
    • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Adobe and Photoshop.
    • Experience with creative concept development, art direction, storyboarding and message development for creative design work
    • Occasionally travel to domestic conferences
