    Summary:
    Covaris is seeking a dedicated individual who will be responsible of supporting day-to-day R&D laboratory operations. The candidate will be joining a dynamic group with a strong Team spirit. Main responsibilities will be maintenance of a functional, clean and safe laboratory. This includes equipment oversight following work instructions, organization of reagents and consumables including freezers and cold room. Opportunity to grow into a laboratory manager role.
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    The employee may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.
    • Supports R&D and Applications staff in their day-to-day work.
    • Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
    • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing or calling in preventive maintenance and calling for urgent repairs.
    • Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
    • Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences.
    • Familiarity with Molecular Diagnostics R&D lab environment
    • Familiar and hands-on experience with basic laboratory equipment such as water baths, heat blocks, pH meter.
    • Additional experience with capillary electrophoresis equipment such as BioAnalyzer and Fragment Analyzer is a plus.
    • Knowledge in basic bacterial and mammalian cell culture.

    Summary:

    The position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a broad scientific background and experience in marketing, product management, sales and/or business development, specifically with instrumentation, consumables, and reagents that enable high throughput biology. The candidate should have a high level of curiosity about our customers’ needs and be able to translate those needs into a clear and concise message to promote solutions using the Covaris technology platform. The successful candidate should be a creative and resourceful team player who excels at working across multiple departments (Sales, BD, Applications, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering) and with our European office. The role is multi-faceted and demands scientific understanding, market awareness and commercial expertise.

    The Marketing Director role is to identify longer term growth opportunities, determine product development priorities, describe product specifications, and shepherd approved projects through the development process and commercialization. This is an important appointment and the role will be both challenging and rewarding from a scientific and a business development perspective. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing Director will also work closely with Covaris’ Scientific and Technical leadership.

    Reporting to this position is two product manager positions with the potential for a third position.

    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable plans.
    • In-depth knowledge of molecular biology; NGS and proteomics experience a plus.
    • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
    • Critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines
    • 30% travel, primarily domestic.

    We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Commercial Team as an Inside Sales Account Rep. You will be managing the customer sales process for all Covaris product lines, accounts and/or sales opportunities via phone and e-mail. Interacting with existing customers and identifying new ones, will be a core responsibility. You will have significant interaction with colleagues in sales, marketing and applications, to address customer questions/concerns, creating, and submitting individualized quotes, and additional customer service tasks and logistics.

    Responsible for multiple Engineering and MFG support roles, including
    • Participation in product and process design, improvement, and validation. Aid in the transfer of designs from R&D to Manufacturing.

    • Work closely with Engineering/R&D to reveal issues with electronics design through testing or analysis. Identify appropriate solutions, verify their effectiveness, and update documentation to release appropriate design or process changes.
