Covaris AFA technology processes samples isothermally (for both individual and batched samples). Using AFA, the Covaris instruments focus high-frequency acoustic energy directly into the liquid phase of the sample with little scatter and high efficiency. What does this mean for you? Covaris has no heat damage to your already precious samples, so you won’t move forward with “cooked” nucleic acids or proteins.
Most commercially-available FFPE extraction and purification kits, use Xylene to remove the paraffin from around the tissue. Xylene is flammable and toxic and requires special disposal methods.
